Job title: Registered Manager (Ofsted Registered)

Service: Ofsted Regulated Residential Children’s Homes, Regulated for the care of EBD children - BRAND NEW

Salary: Earnings up to £50,000 including Bonuses.

Starting Salary - £35,000

Bonus: Un-capped, dependent on Ofsted rating, occupancy & financial performance.

Hours: 40 hours per week. However, the service is 24/7/365 and there may be times when the manager is expected to work outside of office hours. We are flexible, and want you to have a work/life balance that suits you.

Essential Criteria:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a position relevant to the residential care of children

  • Proven track record with Ofsted of either a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' rating

  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding regulations and Children's Residential care policies and procedures

  • Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services in the children and young people’s residential management pathway. APPLICATION FORM to be completed and sent to

The ideal successful candidate will manage a children's home for up to three children young people aged 8-17 from a 5-bed detached home. You would create a nurturing environment, which focuses on reward, high quality care and enjoyable activities for the children placed with them. Proactively securing long term placements with positive outcomes.

You will ideally have experience managing an Ofsted rated Good or Outstanding children’s home. You will need to hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent. A full UK driving license is necessary for this role. Enthusiastic, resilient, and great people skills, you will have the autonomy to make key decisions. You will be able to inspire and develop exceptional teams and the leaders of tomorrow.

As a Registered Manager you will have the following:

  • The desire and passion to safeguard, motivate, and inspire your staff team, and young people in your care.

  • Good communication skills to work effectively with colleagues, in addition to working closely alongside other external professionals.

  • The characteristics and personality to manage challenging behaviour effectively and professionally.

  • The skills required to lead and supervise your colleagues.

  • The confidence to make good decisions, based upon risk assessment and the needs of the children and your colleagues.

  • A sound and in depth of industry regulations and standards, including Ofsted, the SCCIF, CHR2015, Working Together to Safeguard 2018 etc.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the service, managing the premises and staffing in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Children's Home Regulations and LBH/CCG policies and procedures.

  • The skills to work collaboratively with various multi agencies, such as Social Services, the NHS, the Police; in order to collaboratively engineer the best outcomes for our children.
